Cyber Seniors Documentary

April 9, 2016-  Louden Nelson Community Center  |  11 AM- 3 PM

Join volunteers and staff from our program Youthserve as they host a screening of the award winning documentary Cyber Seniors at Louden Nelson Community Center (301 Center St. Santa Cruz) from 11AM-1PM followed by a Senior Tech Day Workshop from 1-3PM.
Cyber-Seniors follows a group of initially reluctant seniors as they discover the wonders of the world-wide-web with the help of their teenage mentors. Finding their footing rather quickly, the group moves on to compete against one another for the most YouTube views while swiftly building their online inventory of friends.
This humorous and heartwarming feature documentary, adds to the important  conversation about the growing generation gap. Learn more about the film and creators.
After the film we invite you to meet volunteers from our local Senior Tech Day Project. For the past 5 years,  YouthSERVE has run a technology mentorship program for seniors hosting weekly workshops throughout Santa Cruz county.
Post discussion volunteer mentors will host a Senior Tech Day workshop from 1-3PM.
