Giving Thanks to You

A Note of Gratitude from our Executive Director.

This is a heartfelt note to let you know how grateful I am for you.

Since 1967, the Volunteer Center has been the home for people to come together and connect for good. I am incredibly proud of the work we do—but the truth is, it’s only possible because of you.

Volunteering is about service, yes—but it’s also about connection. In a world that often feels divided, volunteers like you build bridges. Your actions ease isolation, strengthen our community, and touch the lives of thousands across Santa Cruz County and beyond.  Through these connections, the people whose lives you touch—and who see your work—find hope.

As we celebrate our blessings and give gratitude this week, please take a moment to reflect on the impact of your service, the way you show up for your neighbors, and the change we create together when we’re connected for good. Thank you for all you do!

With a hopeful heart,
Karen Delaney
Executive Director
