Shandra Handley has been working at the Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office since August 2013. She has been assigned to the Consumer Fraud and Environmental Protection Unit since October 2016. The Consumer Unit handles a wide variety of matters including both civil and criminal prosecution. One of Shandra’s most rewarding aspects of her position is community outreach, which provides an opportunity to educate the community about scams and steps that can be taken to protect ourselves from scams. Preventing an individual from becoming a victim of a scam, is one less conversation, of which there are far too many, with individuals who have become a victim of a scam.
