Join Our Annual Coat Drive!
Winter is here and it’s time to come together to share the warmth with those in need. The Annual Winter Coat Drive, hosted by AmeriCorps Seniors Monterey Bay RSVP, (a program of the Volunteer Center’s Empowered Aging Division) is almost here, and we need your help to make it a success!
Whether you’re looking to donate a coat or volunteer your time, there are plenty of ways to get involved and make a difference in our community. Keep reading to learn more!
Donate a Coat and Spread Warmth
Do you have a gently used coat taking up space in your closet? Now’s the perfect time to give it a new purpose by donating it to someone in need. Here’s how you can donate:
- Where: 1740 17th Ave, Santa Cruz, CA 95062
- When: January 13th – January 23rd (Closed Monday, January 20th for MLK Day)
- Days: Monday – Thursday
- Hours: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Your donation will help keep someone warm and safe this winter. Every coat makes a difference!
Volunteer Opportunities
There are several ways you can lend a hand during this year’s coat drive:
1. Sort and Organize Coats
Help us prepare coats for distribution! Volunteers are needed on January 27th to sort, organize, and ensure everything is ready for those in need.

2. Deliver and Distribute Coats
Bring warmth directly to our neighbors by delivering coats to local organizations between January 27th – 31st. Flexible opportunities are available to fit your schedule.

3. Decorate Pocket Notes (Remote Volunteer Opportunity)
Add a personal touch by creating cheerful notes to include in coat pockets. This is a fantastic option for those who prefer volunteering from home.
