2016 marks my 4th year directing this collaborative community fundraising event for Santa Cruz County, and I can honestly say I am most excited about the potential for this year’s event. Here are three reasons why I think your organization should participate this year:
1) With a powerhouse team of new partners to help propel this fundraiser forward—we’ll be offering meaningful trainings to help you leverage the most out of this campaign as well as $20,000 in cash prizes and $50,000 in a proportional match. The more you raise from the pool of eligible organizations—the more you get!
2) This fundraiser is customizable for you. If your supporters cringe at the thought of having their own fundraising website, they can collect cash and checks using our pledge forms. If your supporters thrive online, we are using a top-of-the-line giving platform that is clean, simple AND easy to use! Got a mix of both? Use a combination of online & offline fundraising! Can’t make Race Day? Make your campaign completely virtual while giving your biggest fans a chance to stand for your cause.
3) With this year’s campaign being only six weeks (March 26-May 7th)—I encourage our participating organizations to challenge themselves to try something new. Maybe you’ve never tried to secure matching dollars for a fundraising campaign before, or maybe you’re not sure how to leverage social media to increase visibility in your cause. Maybe you’ve been searching for the next step in your relationship with a local business and could use the Human Race to ignite their support. Our series of training are here to help you succeed.
*Bonus Reason (because you’ve read this far, so why not?): How wonderful is it, that at least this one day a year we can invite our community to come out and support all the hardworking folks that are dedicated to making our community a better place.
