Wishing You a Happy Holiday

Thank you for partnering with us this year.

Our offices are now closed for the holiday and will re-open again on Jan 2nd, 2019.

As we head away from some time with our families we are feeling such pride for another wonderful year of generosity, connection, and impact.

This week we closed out our final project of the year with  Adopt a Family, and we are proud to share it was our most successful project ever. Because of the exceptional generosity of our community we were able to accept additional families into the program, increase the number of food gift cards provided and distribute additional toys to children served by our partnering agencies.  Our partnering agencies have been begun distributing  family packages to families and will continue to do so throughout the weekend. Thank you to our donors and volunteers for making the holiday brighter for more than 485 families.

Even better, we love knowing that this wonderful annual devotion displayed by Adopt a Family Volunteers, while special is not unique.

Behind EVERY incredible local program is a volunteer. In Santa Cruz County we have volunteers like no other, thousands of locals who set to work every day to make Santa Cruz County a better place to live. They are improving our parks, creating community art, contributing to our local government, helping in our schools, and sustaining our nonprofits.

Plain & Simple– Our community thrives because every day volunteers are willing to share their time, talent, resource, and dedication.

Due to this dedication and the innovative efforts of local volunteers, this year we were awarded as the 2018 California Nonprofit of the Year by the Office of the Governor.

The Volunteer Center was selected among 265,678 registered nonprofits in California because each year, we are able to bring a new round of energized volunteers to the community table ready to make a difference. For over 50 years, we have partnered with our community to build new connections and take meaningful action.

Ultimately, we are lucky to live in a community where people are kind, generous, committed, and ready to volunteer. We are lucky that our donors and funding partners believe in our work and are generous with their support.

This award belongs to all of the incredible people, businesses, and groups who have devoted their time to volunteerism in Santa Cruz County. As we close out the year, we do so with such PRIDE for our community.

Magic happens in our community when we connect for good! We’re here everyday to help you find the perfect way to Really Connect with causes you care about. Want to help us make the magic happen in the coming year? Consider an end of the year donation to the Volunteer Center to help sustain our work in 2019.

Happy Holidays and we look forward to connecting with you in 2019.
