"A friend gave me a year's worth of take out meals and I cried when I received that. When we were exiting our cancer treatment, I remembered that gift and I wanted to pass it on to other members of the community"- Angela Farley, TKP Founder

Volunteer Profiles - Meet the Volunteers at Teen Kitchen Project

Since 2011, the Teen Kitchen Project has provided teens with an opportunity to learn cooking skills, while giving back to the community. Chefs and nutritionists help teens learn to cook healthy, nourishing food. The meals are delivered by adult “Delivery Angels” to individuals and families in crisis due to illness.

To date teen chefs have volunteered over 2,600 hours. The Project serves about 40 clients and their families at a time. Many clients are economically disadvantaged, live alone without any support, and do not qualify for other meal programs such as Meals on Wheels. The Teen Kitchen Project provides a vital service for families struggling with illness, all while empowering teens and nourishing community.

Together they have delivered over 11,000 meals.  The Teen Kitchen Project was selected as the Be the Difference Award Non-Profit Winner in 2014 for their incredible work with volunteers.

Give your Time: The Teen Kitchen Project welcomes teens and adults to support their work. Teens are invited to participate in their teen leadership program and will be provided with an orientation prior to starting. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 3 hours per week.
