Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County Receives Prestigious Community Service Award

The Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County is honored to announce that it has been awarded the High Five Community Service Excellence Award. This prestigious recognition is presented by FOX 35 and Monterey Credit Union to commend organizations and individuals who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to enhancing the Central Coast communities through dedicated community service and leadership.

The High Five Community Service Excellence Awards are given quarterly across Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties. These awards spotlight those who contribute significantly to the community through their time, actions, talents, and dedication, serving as role models for compassion and community engagement.

“We are truly humbled to receive this significant acknowledgment,” said Karen Delaney, Executive Director of the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County. “This award is a testament to the hard work, enthusiasm, and persistence of our volunteers and our staff, who are committed to making a difference in the community every day.”

The Volunteer Center has been at the forefront of community service in Santa Cruz County, initiating various programs that address the needs of the less fortunate, promote inclusivity, and foster a spirit of giving and volunteerism. This award not only recognizes the Volunteer Center’s past achievements but also encourages the continuation and expansion of its impactful programs.
