Falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for older Americans and yet many incidents are preventable. In partnership with fellow senior service providers we've form the Monterey Bay Falls Prevention Coalition to support seniors in preventing falls, reducing risk, and increasing strength and balance through resource sharing, consultation, and group training. VOLUNTEER AS A MATTER OF BALANCE COACH
Are you interested in helping older adults build their confidence and mobility? Do you enjoy leading groups? We are looking for volunteers who have the desire, time, and leadership skills to facilitate our classes. We provide coaches training and certification to ensure you have the tools needed.

Our award-winning falls prevention training program, "Matter of Balance" offers an evidenced-based approach to reducing the fear of falling and increasing activity levels among older adults.
Participants learn simple exercises in balance and strength building to help prevent falls, as well as home safety tips. In small group sessions, we explore techniques to overcome the fear of falling, so participants come away with a well-rounded approach to staying safe and healthy at home, and beyond.
