Empowered Aging

We've combined our six senior assistance programs - Helping Hands, Transportation, Grocery Shoppers, Stay Connected, AmeriCorps Seniors, and A Matter of Balance, under a new service area: Empowered Aging. Through Empowered Aging, we aim to empower older adults, volunteers, and the community to ensure we're doing all we can to meet the needs of our older neighbors.

Now more than ever, we recognize the value of connection as a vital part of healthy aging. Scroll down or use the menu on the left to learn more about our services for older adults.

Volunteer Center Hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-5pm and Fridays 9am -12pm

HELPING HANDS SENIOR HOME REPAIR

Many seniors living on a fixed income are forced to make the difficult decision between their safety and covering monthly bills. Helping Hands volunteers play a crucial role in helping low-income senior homeowners, disabled older adults and veterans to age safely in our community and maintain the independence they desire. We provide home safety checks and basic modifications that prevent falls in and around the home and allow for seniors to engage in the activities they enjoy.

STAY CONNECTED

The Stay Connected Program is a remote connectivity program for local seniors designed to be an ongoing person-to-person engagement over the phone. This engagement is mainly through providing a friendly, social call and sharing community resources. The program strives to connect you with a senior who may share similar interests as you in order to provide a lasting connection. We welcome you to be a part of a program that engages older adults in our community and makes a lasting connection in their lives and yours!
