Volunteer Profiles - Meet Austin Lee, Second Harvest Food Bank Volunteer

In their Words...

"I feel like I am making a direct impact on the community in a positive way, and I can see the change I am making."

Meet Austin Lee, a former UCSC student who moved to Santa Cruz County in 2011 and, like many who fell in love with Santa Cruz, decided to put down roots. Austin’s grounding involved getting to know and giving back to his community and he soon found his calling by volunteering with Second Harvest Food Bank.

Austin volunteers on Saturdays, helping pack produce bags that go out to over 65,000 community
members each month. He loves the hands-on work and the positive environment created by fellow
volunteers and staff. When asked what motivates him, Austin says, “I feel like I am making a direct impact on the community in a positive way, and I can see the change I am making.”

You can make a difference too!
