Providing For Our Community During This Challenging Time
We are committed to doing our part to promote public health by postponing, interrupting or canceling in person activities while staying true to our mission of finding healthy, creative ways for people to contribute to community good. Across our 22 programs, we have suspended all non-essential services to be able to focus on the critical needs of our community members, clients, and fellow nonprofits.

Vaccination Clinic Volunteers and Medical Professionals Needed
We are working with County Health to provide volunteer support at the Mass Vaccination Clinics in Watsonville. Volunteers are needed for basic tasks such as check-in, moving supplies, and paperwork. Volunteers with a medical background that would like to support community medical centers or the COVID-19 vaccination program must register as a Disaster Healthcare Volunteer with the Medical Reserve Corps and complete an online training.

Grocery Support for Vulnerable Seniors
We are dedicated to ensuring that our most vulnerable community members are able to get the food they need as they shelter in place. We are working with fixed-income seniors age 60+ and older adults 55+ with medical conditions in need of grocery services and we connecting them with volunteer shoppers.

Mobilizing Volunteers for Mask-Making
We are currently working with the County of Santa Cruz and the County Office of Education to mobilize volunteers who want to sew safety masks. These masks will be used for county providers, nonprofits providing essential services to help maintain the safety of volunteers, staff, and clients. We are also distributing child-sized masks to the County Office of Education for schools when students return to class in the fall. Give your time by sewing, view video tutorials, and download the project guidelines.

Mental Health Support Services & Food Distribution
Everyday staff and volunteers from our program Community Connection dedicate themselves to helping adults lead healthier and more productive lives by overcoming mental health and chemical dependency challenges. While the shelter in place mandate is in order we will rely on telecommunication to support our mental health participants. We will also continue to provide services for those in need of food, access to healthcare, or having a psychiatric emergency.
