Grocery Shopper Program
We are dedicated to ensuring that our most vulnerable community members are able to get the food they need as they shelter in place. We are serving fixed-income seniors age 60+ as well as health compromised older adults 55+. If you're not a senior but are still vulnerable to COVID-19, you can contact us to learn about other grocery shopping programs in Santa Cruz County.
Our volunteers are vetted and trained to take grocery orders and methods of payment from local seniors, purchase groceries from local retailers on behalf of the senior, and deliver the groceries to senior homes using social distancing practices.

A huge thank you to our volunteers and participants for sharing their experience with us. Since the inception of this project 120 volunteers have helped serve 150 vulnerable older adults in need and have delivered over 10,000 bags of groceries!

VOLUNTEER AS A GROCERY SHOPPER
Are you doing weekly shopping for your household? We invite you to help a senior at the same time by serving as a volunteer grocery shopper. We are recruiting healthy volunteers to shop for isolated seniors so they can remain safely at home. All volunteers will receive a safety training and will be background checked. Please Note: background checks can take up to 1 week to complete.
